Today, I went to see the rheumatologist. He was happy with the
results of the ANA testing. It was negative for Lupus. The
titer ratio for Lupus is greater than 1:40. My results were
1:40 so, I am not near as happy as he is. But he is the doctor
and knows more and I should take confidence in his evaluation. However,
I am fearful since I already take steroids it is masking the test
results and I forgot to ask about the possibility. I seem to
have so many symptoms. My husband says I'm looking at the wrong
side of things, perhaps he's right?
I told him about my hospitalization and I got the impression that
he feels it may have been caused by the Indocin. Anyway you
look at it, he told me to stop taking it, along with the Skelaxin.
Instead I am to take Flexeril 10mg every night
at bedtime for the muscle spasms and Celebrex 100mg
capsules in place of the Indocin. I can take one or two every
12 hours to control the Costochondritis
and Fibromyalgia
pain.
Now on to the new stuff. He happened to pick up on the fact that
I have some foot pain. It is across the top of both feet just
above the toes. He called it Metatarsalgia, which is doctor talk
for pain in the metatarsal, or foot bones. He said it was caused
from fallen metatarsal arches and I would need to add metatarsal bars
to my shoes, particularly heels. We'll see about that one.
Well, that sums up his plan of care for now. He wants to see whether
or not the test is positive for Crohn's Disease before he proceeds with
any more tests. So, it's hurry up and wait, again.
You are listening to Memories from the musical Cats, written by
Andrew Lloyd Webber and T.S. Eliot. I felt this song was a perfect
selection
for this site because of the affiliation I feel with Grizabella. Although
for her,
it was age and not health issues that changed her, neither of us are who
we
were before, on the outside, and it can affect how we feel on the inside.
