After having chest pain for a couple hours, I went tothe ER.
They decided I needed to get another cath NOW. So, off we went.
I'm not sure what possessed my DH to take pictures while I was in the hospital
when I was feeling and looking so bad but he did. Although most will be of no
interest, there are some that might show you things you have not seen.
Waiting to go to the cardiac cath center.
Before and after the stent.
Blockage can be seen in the image on the left.
Increased blood flow can be seen on the image on the right.
Notice how so many of the arteries are wider?
Shortly after returning to my room.
Cardiac Monitor
Green is heart rate.
Red is blood pressure at the cath insertion site.
Blue is oxygen level.
White is blood pressure.
This is the Femstop.
The strap goes around you and is secured on each end allowing it to be tightened.
It is used to apply pressure to the groin.
The curved cup is placed over the catheter insertion site
and pressure in increased or decreased by a valve at the end of that yellow
tubing. The thing with the red, white, and blue valves is the transducer.
It controls the IV that is going directly into the artery in the groin.
Up in the chair the next day getting ready to be discharged.
You are listening to Memories from the musical Cats, written by
Andrew Lloyd Webber and T.S. Eliot. I felt this song was a perfect selection
for this site because of the affiliation I feel with Grizabella. Although
for her,
it was age and not health issues that changed her, neither of us are who we
were before, on the outside, and it can affect how we feel on the inside.
