The spinal is over and done with. It ended up not being quite
what they would have liked but... LOL... but it's a JO thing we are
talking about here. LOL...
The spinal was done under fluoroscopy using a mild general anesthesia
as well as a local. The MD who did it said that there would
have been no way that the neurologist could have done it. It
appears my spine has these knobby proturbences between the disc that
impede passage of the needle. They had to poke six times
using fluoroscopy before they could find a passageway through to my
spinal cord. Barnacles... LOL... I have barnacles.
Anyway once they were in he said my CSF [cerebral spinal fluid] moved
slower than he'd ever seen... 1gtt [drop] per the normal 4.
The process which normally takes about 20 minutes turned into an hour
and a half ordeal but you know what??? I wouldn't get you one
for Christmas BUT I wouldn't tell you not to do it either.
It wasn't so bad, if they give you Versed. All I felt
was a sting like your normal local anesthesia sting followed by six
pressure ache that only produce a nerve twinge twice. I choose
to believe that the Vagal response was God's way of protecting me
from the spinal that would have gone on last week.... without success...
with much pain.
Anyway, I was supposed to only stay for an hour but they decided to
keep me for four hours but they allowed Mike to bring in the laptop
so I could write this up while still fresh in my mind... and in the
same frame of mind.
Now, they have decided I can be in my recliner leaning back. I
have no H/A [headache] but, I'm not sure I have a head. They
gave me 2 percocet and an ativan.
Woooohoooo.... anybody see me???
For a funny incident that occurred during the spinal, read my story, Think
Happy Thoughts.
You are listening to Memories from the musical Cats, written by
Andrew Lloyd Webber and T.S. Eliot. I felt this song was a perfect
selection
for this site because of the affiliation I feel with Grizabella. Although
for her,
it was age and not health issues that changed her, neither of us are who
we
were before, on the outside, and it can affect how we feel on the inside.
