Going Home

After several telephone calls
We're getting back together after all
I left without a second glance
No thought of giving him a second chance

Our start seems to be looking mighty fine
Maybe we'll actually make it work this time
I'm hoping for the absolute best
The past we'll just have to put to rest

I just can't believe how promising it looks
It's almost as if he's read a few books
He's called me a few endearing names
And he says he's not playing any more games

I'm waiting for him to wire me money
So, I can go home and be with my honey
I almost borrowed it from a friend tonight
But I decided it best to make him fight

He told me he said good-bye to old loves
So maybe we can put away those old boxing gloves
A few issues we'll still have to resolve
But there's a few less problems for us to solve

Now I hope to be singing less of the blues
And to our hearts and each other we'll be true
We'll need to put forward our best foot
Then with each other we can stay put

You are listening to Dark Side by Eddie and The Cruisers.
I have such an eclectic taste in music that it is hard for me
to pick just the right song but this one seems appropriate.
I really like the movie and the music but this site
is about my slip into the dark side!

All poetry presented here is original works of art written by me.
Please do not recreate any of them without expressed permission from me.
My inspiration was my pain and as such is quite personal.
It is my soul that is bared through these words.
