A Chance to Love

I only came for a song to sing
I didn't really want anyone under my wing
But there he was with his voice so strong
With all those looks how could this be wrong

He seemed to be really low on smiles
As if he'd been through some hard miles
He spoke to me straight from his heart
Surprisingly, nearly right from the start

In time, his feelings he had told
But he could tell I wasn't exactly sold
I was really afraid to again give my trust
But his goal was set, my heart or bust

Now time has moved on
And my heart he has won
There are still issues to unpack
And some problems for us to attack

By holding the other dear to our hearts
We'll have the very best of starts
He is now my entire world
And I hope I'm his only girl

My inner shell I am now shedding
And if you're interested in betting
Place all your chips on this here couple
And your money, you'll more than double

He'll cling to me
I hope to see
Our hearts will surely always sing
With all the love we'll surely bring
