Haunting Past

I gave him my whole heart
With its' innermost thoughts
Now I sit and wonder was I wrong or was I right
I wouldn't have made that blunder if I had had second sight

Not a word to me has he spoken
Wouldn't give me so much as a little token
Now all my wisdom comes solely from songs
And they may come up short or they may come up long

Then with the words of George Strait
I wonder how I came to be in such dire straits
Cause when he sings "when did you stop loving me?"
He looks as if his heart and soul will bleed

His thoughts are far from me I'm sure
It's plain to see it's been all for her
I must remain steadfast and strong
So his heart I can turn, that just can't be wrong

You are listening to Dark Side by Eddie and The Cruisers.
I have such an eclectic taste in music that it is hard for me
to pick just the right song but this one seems appropriate.
I really like the movie and the music but this site
is about my slip into the dark side!

All poetry presented here is original works of art written by me.
Please do not recreate any of them without expressed permission from me.
My inspiration was my pain and as such is quite personal.
It is my soul that is bared through these words.
