JO's MS Eyes

...did you see that?

I can't always trust my eyes and it makes for interesting interpretations at times.  I see what I call *barking spiders* from time to time.  I know these things aren't real and it is just something my eye thinks it sees.... like a bat flying around... or a mouse darting across the floor... something like that.  Now, whenever I see any thing like that I am 99.99% certain, it was just my eyes, as there aren't bats normally flying around in my house and... as of yet, no mice either.

But on the occasion that I see something that could be real, like a fly or spider or something else that is a real possibility... I will ask my husband, "Did you see that?" and he will either confirm it or not.  This habit brought up an incident that to me was so funny.

Did you see The Klumps?  The sequel to The Nutty Professor.   Actually, it is the commercial for it that is important.  One of the scenes in the commercial is where this little miniature man runs across a conference table and jumps at a woman grabbing at the neck of her blouse and tearing it as he falls.  Well, I saw that and it just hit me as hysterical and I was laughing like crazy.  Well, DH wanted to know what was so dang funny.  So, I asked him "Didn't you see that little man running across the table?"  OH, the poor man... in his most-kindest-my-wife-has-gone-completely-over-the-edge voice says "No, dear, I did not see any man."  ROTFLOL... Anyway, when you don't trust your vision, fun stuff can happen.

Speaking of fun, I don't always see the color white as white... especially when working in one of my graphics programs or e-mail.  I see it as pale shades of blue or pink and recently violet.  So much so, that I will take out a color dropper program and check the number and sure enough when I click on it, it says it is color #FFFFFF [that's one of the HTML codes for white, in case you did not know].  Then there are times that I can't see at all.  Generally it is only spots of vision... either the top or bottom of the vision in my left eye will be gray or gone completely. Sometime, it is even the right side of my left eye leaving grayed, foggy or dark area to my vision nearly in the middle.... like a hole in my vision.

I know the neurologist sees something wrong with the way my eye moves but what exactly, I do not know.  I know my eyes will cross and give me some double vision too from time to time.  I imagine that is one of the reasons I am not supposed to drive any more.

You are listening to Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Judy Garland
because dreams really do come true.  I wouldn't say that having MS
was a dream of mine but having MS has afforded me the time to
make my dreams come true.
