Our Beach
May 23rd, 2002

Mike and I went to the beach last night because of a Nor'easter causing unusually high tide with 7 to 8 foot seas and we wanted to see it.

The tide was just churning but there were still three lone surfers out trying to hang 10 or themselves, I am not sure.  As we left, one of them came in and we saw that his board had broke.   Lucky, it wasn't his neck.

We also ran into a young couple that were from Michigan here on their honeymoon.   He was quite excited to be seeing something they don't normally get to see in their parts.   She, however, wasn't as happy to be privy to the sight.  The wind was blowing and the sand tend to sting a bit as it hit your skin.

We forgot the camera but a friend and neighbor took these this morning.

The beach on May 23, 2002

The sun comes up over the beach so it made it hard to get pics.  These are a bit dark but, you can see the waves.  They don't look nearly as big and angry as they did in "person".  And I agree with that.

 See the foam!

The tide was unusually high this morning so it looks like we don't have much beach.  When it is normal low tide we have lots and lots of beach front.

Runners on the beach

It's never very crowded in the early morning hours but, this is the main beach and it attracts lots of tourist and is usually filled with people.  There were some people down there but not too many.  When we left the surfers were coming in.

Shark teeth!

We picked up a few sharks teeth while we were there.   These are small but, I am always welcome to find one!    We looked for them about 45 minutes and only found these 10 or so.  Sometimes with the waves pounding you can find lots and lots and other times they are scarce as hens teeth!!
We, Mike and I, have only found ONE and that was when we were with Mel.
She must be the teeth magnet.   lol...
