CHER Living Proof THE FAREWELL TOUR We arrived at Pensacola Civic Center about an hour early. First thing we did was buy our souvenirs. We got the "CHER - The Farewell Tour DVD"; a concert T-shirt and a program. We took our seats... did I mention they were 5th row?!? Oh wow, we could tell we were going to have a wonderful view!!! We were right center stage and WOW!!! As we talked and people watched, and waited for the curtain to go up, we noticed a guy 2 rows up who was taking things away and bringing them back autographed. We had NO idea you could do that and by the time we asked, it was too late. So, we waited for Cyndi Lauper to come out. Yes, Cyndi Lauper! I knew she was the opening act as I had read every review I could find and they all mentioned Cyndi Lauper. A lady sitting behind us tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I knew who was opening and I said I had read it was Cyndi Lauper. A bit later she tapped me on the shoulder again and said Cyndi Lauper was not opening because she had hurt herself and a comedian named Tommy Drake was the opening act. I must say I was disappointed AND wondered how they could take us from music, to a comedy act and then back to music without ruining the show... but they did! He was funny! And captured and held the audience quite well. The lights go down and Cher enters... from the ceiling... atop a chandelier. Talk about an entrance!!!
