Mom and I were interviewed on VNN... Villages
News Network. The interview will be televised and in print. For those in Florida,
it will be on Channel 2 of our local station and also on C-Span. Once I get
a copy of the Newspaper, I'll scan it and get it linked for any interested
parties.
The reporter arrived at Mom and Dad's around 1pm. He set his cameras and lights and light filters up in the living room and preceded to interview Mom on her reaction to finding the son she had given up for adoption at 3 month old. As a single parent. which was highly looked down upon in 1953, she did what she thought was best. She related her amazement at his being found and the peace it brought her. Mom did GREAT!!! And Dad got teary-eyed. She also recounted her thrill at meeting him. Next it was my turn. I was extremely nervous but did pretty well. We laughed at how I always wondered when I dated someone born in 1953, if he was my brother or not. lol... And, of course, we talked about the meeting. He was easy to talk to but let me tell you, it was hot, hot, hot under those lights. Next he took some candid shots of Mom and I sharing some of the pictures that were taken when we all met. Last, we went into the computer room and I sat down and
recreated the steps I went through the night I found him through www.bighugs.com
and showed him the screen where it shows us matched up. It was supposed to air sometime between September 3rd and the 10th and be in the paper the following day but due to the events of September 11th, it was postponed until September 18th.
